Leadership and learning go hand in hand and once we've freed some mental space through *unlearning, we'll have the capacity to turn our focus to the new skills and capabilities we want to grow and acquire.

Deloitte's 2021 Global Human Capital Trends Report found that 72% of executives worldwide identified “the ability of their people to adapt, reskill and assume new roles” as a priority for navigating future disruptions. Continuous learning is crucial to thrive in a constantly changing world and achieve personal and professional success.
But we need a rapid and sustainable learning regime that is designed for the dynamic world we live in. One of my major inspirations in this topic area is best-selling author Josh Kaufman. In his book "The First 20 Hours: How to Learn Anything Fast", he details a systematic approach to learning any new skill with around 20 hours of deliberate practice (ideally over a relatively condensed period of time). His 4 step method details how to deconstruct complex skills, maximize productive practice, and remove common learning barriers.
